Sep 21, 2008, Concealment and Revelation and Peace
I woke up this morning hearing these words in my head - "It will be interesting to see the revelation that happens..." Concealment and revelation. A favorite topic of the Anusara set. Concealment and revelation are two of the five acts of Siva, and the root tone or flavor of the universal pulsation, known as spanda, that is the nature of the universe and all its forms. I have been teaching about concealment and revelation this week. Usually, if I have a dream in connection to my teaching, the dream will come first. The topic then develops through journaling about it, contemplating it in practice, and the act of teaching itself. This dreaming about the already existing teaching subject is different. Its different-ness makes it stand out, and feel more powerful somehow. It feels like something to pay attention to, like an omen. It felt like it was referring to the Global Mala Celebration, which I posted about the other day, and which is happening today in Portland's Pioneer Square and around the world. The celebration is in honor of Peace Day. I don't know if the revelation I should expect will be mine personally, or of the greater population of the universe. For me, teaching to 300 people as well as many of my peers in the Portland yoga community, is certainly going to be a new and expansive experience. For the universe, hundreds of thousands of yogis, breathing and bowing and opening their hearts together around the globe in the name of peace - well that will also no doubt be an experience of spirit made manifest in our outer most consciousness. And that is what revelation is - a moment of sat chit ananda - the truth of consciousness as bliss - showing itself to us in our embodied state. Neat-o. comment
