Self Awareness Test

You can take this simple self awareness test right now if you have a few moments to spare, and are in a place where you can safely close your eyes.

Find yourself a in comfortable position. Lying on your back is ideal, but sitting comfortably can also work.

Close your eyes, and relax. Watch your breath come in and out, and begin to notice how your body responds to your breathing. Does the belly move, or the chest? There is no right answer. Asking the questions is a way to tune in.

After a moment, begin to look at yourself with your mind's eye. You are going to try to look at your whole body this way, so begin with a part of you that you have looked at with your real eyes often. you can use your face and head, or maybe the hand you write with, perhaps your feet.

Once you have "seen" this familiar part of yourself with your mind's eye, or inner eye, begin move to along your body to the next part. From the foot, go to the ankle, from the hand to the wrist, from the head to the neck and so on. Move through your entire body, and try to see each part of yourself in turn.

Make a note of which parts you cannot visualize or see. These are the parts of you that lack awareness. Are there a lot of such places?

Yoga poses, such as mountain pose and warrior two are great tools for developing self awareness.
