Oregon Yoga Retreats
(schedule, sign-up and other details here)
Alison is busily planning her future retreats on the oregon Coast and elsewhere.
The Yachats retreat has become an event I look forward to each year. So far, the weather has been amazing every time. The location makes the event super accessible - I teach the yoga, you work out the lodging piece as you see fit. Staying at the Yachats Inn, a few steps from the yoga venue, offers accommodations ranging from luxurious - a suite for yourself or to share with a loved one, to very economical if you choose to share a room with friends. The larger rooms and suites have very workable kitchens. Plus, your family or beloved can join you at the Inn, whether or not they're participating in the workshop (although of course we hope they'll join us).
The theme this year is "On Becoming the Masterpiece of Your Own Life," and I opened this page with some thoughts I jotted down a year or so ago about the importance of paying attention to Joy. You see, the practice of yoga is one of ever deepening one's own self knowledge, and of stepping into a collaborative role in our life's unfolding. This Labor Day weekend in Yahcats, our focus will be on unlocking the language of asana to deepen your understanding of what makes you tick, with the intention to bring that understanding back to the choices you are making day to day.
The cost for the yoga part of the retreat is $160. This includes an early afternoon asana practice on Saturday, a morning and an evening practice Sunday, a morning practice Monday, and meditation both Sunday and monday mornings. Practices are approximately 2.5 hours in length. Lodging at the inn can run anywhere from $45 a night for sharing a room to $135 for a suite of your own. I would encourage you to visit the website and explore the many options - There is a modern wing and an "original" wing, which has a decidedly "vintage" feel. Some have fireplaces. Some accept pets. Naturally, you can also arrange to stay elsewhere, or camp nearby (reserve early for camping!)
I can't think of a better way to spend the last long weekend of our beautiful Northwest summer.

"You are an amazing teacher, the class was soooo great. ...The retreat had a profound impact on both of us. The practice was so nice and we learned so much... I cant really explain how wonderful it was, my body feels great, my nerves are more settled, and my mind is more clear... We are planning to attend next year as well if the retreat continues." - AK
