"Hello Yoga Students!

I'm planning our weekend together in Portland in November and getting excited! I hope you can join me for a weekend of transformational Anusara Yoga: Each session through the weekend will feature progressive sequencing, strong and focused work in asana, details and refinements, and a passionate call to be your best. Come ready to learn, participate fully, and be in the uplifting company of teachings and community.

love, Noah"

A bit about this event (introduction taken from the recent newsletter):

Beloved Yogi People,

Dare I say it? Happy Fall.

Back here on earth after a somewhat manic but joyful summer, I am watching the season slowly begin to turn. I'm getting the hang of it, now, this phenomena of seasons. I try put every drop of daylight to grand use while we've got it - virtually living out doors to soak it up. And now, as each crisp evening settles in around us with its surprising sweetness, and we blink in disbelief at the fleeting but glorious glimpses of the smiling summer sun waving goodbye, what else can we do but look forward at the coming months, when the darkness will be lit by one another's hearts, reiterating our common desire to connect with something greater than the changing circumstance.

And so - I am so thrilled and grateful to be able to present Certified Anusara Yoga teacher Noah Maze on November 11th through 13th of this year - a few short weeks away, if you can believe it.

Why? Well lets see. I've known of Noah Maze since the dawn of my Anusara studies - in the greater Anusara community, everybody knows Noah. He's been with John Friend since the early days, immersed in these powerful teachings since he was a mere teenager. Naturally, his mastery reflects this, and he has been recognized for many years as a shining light among John's closest and most dedicated students.

But it was when I met Noah personally, through our mutual colleague and friend, Melonie Nielson of Vancouver Yoga Center, that my knowledge of Noah's status and reputation blossomed into an authentic experience of gratitude for his presence in my community, and in the world.

Noah's teaching, while nurtured in the culture of traditional yoga practices and ritual, is of the no frills, no dogma variety, and based on his own work on the mat. Noah himself is like that - "authentic" is the word that most readily comes to mind. Add to that an expansive and refined understanding of both asana technique and tantric philosophy, and you have the kind of teaching that shifts lives. Committed and passionate, Noah brings a depth to his instruction that feels reliable, lasting, and wise beyond his years, and a down-to-earth, no-nonsense personality through which the teachings become remarkably clear, accessible, and resonant.
