About Alison

"... You are an amazing teacher, the class was sooo great. ...The retreat had a profound impact on both of us. The practice was so nice and we learned so much... I cant really explain how wonderful it was, my body feels great, my nerves are more settled, and my mind is more clear... We are planning to attend next year as well if the retreat continues." - AK

"Your classes are always profound. I was amazed by how fast time still ran by, even in a 2.5 hour session. I really, really felt the depth of the organic extension, energetic & muscular energy dimensions - both physically and as it related to being in general. How incredible to really feel who I am, what I feel like – from the insides of my bones to the edge of skin on the tip of my toes. You’re a blessing, Alison." - KB

"She's one of those people whose first word was probably babbled in sanskrit." - AJ

I am continually amazed by the broad scope and many benefits of yoga, and particularly Anusara Yoga. I have had the tremendous good fortune to have studied 7 years with Anusara's founder, John Friend, whose impact on the lives of so many can hardly be calculated. On a deeply personal level, my practice has been both expanded and fortified by the presence in my life of such luminaries as Desiree Rumbaugh, Darren Rhodes, Dr Douglas Brooks, and Sianna Sherman, who teach through the example of lives steeped in integrity and guided by grace.

I have lately been honored to serve the growing Anusara community in Portland in a leadership role, organizing trainings and workshops as well as mentoring teachers, and am currently in the planning stages for Portland's 2011 Anusara® Immersion, which I will co-teach with Darcy Lyon.

I was a painter first, before yoga. I am married to a super fab amazing husband. I love dogs and jokes and dancing at parties.

Perhaps most significantly, I was taught as a child that all beings and things are expressions of the divine. This wonderful way of being in the world is the foundation of all my practices to this day, and I find great joy in sharing the gifts that it brings with the light filled beings and seekers of truth that populate my life.

Om.
